On September 2nd and 4th, the Spelling Bee reached its exciting finale with contestants from 5th grade to the first year of high school. Students impressed the audience with their sharp focus, remarkable skills, and undeniable spirit. This year’s spelling bee was a safe space for the students to show their striking skills and have fun at the same time.
Not only did the participants show true sportsmanship during the competition, but the audience also encouraged them to keep going and not give up. After every spelling, a huge round of applause followed, regardless of whether the student spelled correctly or not.
The spelling bee couldn’t have taken place without the support of the judges—final-year high school students—who ensured fairness and accuracy throughout the competition. The hosts, teachers from the English Department, brought charm and energy to the event, keeping spirits high. Adding to the festive atmosphere, students were welcomed by the cheerful school mascot, Beeatrice (or Bea ?), who quickly became a favorite among the participants and the audience.
This year’s champions were:
5th grade: Cristián Anríquez. (5ºA)
6th grade: Benjamín Herrera. (6ºB)
7th grade: Rosario Pozo. (7ºA)
8th grade: Maura Elías. (8ºA)
9th grade: Alonso Gravet. (1ºD)
In conclusion, this year’s Spelling Bee was a total success thanks to everyone who made it happen. And what about you? Could you be the next Spelling Bee champion?
